The new television series set in the Star Wars universe, The Mandalorian, has already begun filming, but now we know its lead star. Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal is in final negotiations for the lead role in the series, according to Variety. The new series will premiere on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+. and has already had its synopsis and creative crew behind it revealed. “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerged in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic….” Overseeing the series will be Iron Man director Jon Favreau , with Star Wars animated series veteran Dave Filoni directing the premiere. The series will run for eight episodes and will also have big-names directing episodes, such as Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard , Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi ,, and Rick Famuyiwa .
