SONY’S new PlayStation and Microsoft’s next Xbox will have thousands of games ready to play at launch, a top game maker has claimed. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are due to launch later this year, and will be desperately competing for gamers’ cash. Much of their success will depend on what games are available to play immediately. Sony and Microsoft have largely kept quiet about their launch titles. But Ubisoft chief Yves Guillemot says the majority of current console games will work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. “Those consoles will be running almost all the back catalogue of the previous consoles,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.He continued: “It will be something new in the industry. “It will help the old generations to continue to be big consoles on the market for years to come.” Guillemot isn’t specific, but he’s likely talking about thousands of games. Wikipedia has logged 2,446 different titles on its list of PS4 games.And the same list for the Xbox One includes 2,384 games.
