Reports in Spain and Italy claim Paul Pogba has been looking to increase his wage to £600,000-a-week in order to stay at Manchester United. During the summer the Frenchman created speculation about his future at the club when he suggested it was a good time to have a “new challenge” somewhere else. These comment came after United finished sixth in the Premier League and as a result missed out on Champions League football. Despite Real Madrid and Juventus rumoured to be interested in signing Pogba, United are confident the midfielder will be staying in Manchester for the time being. Pogba’s current contract runs until 2021 and the club also have the option of activating an extra year on top of that as well. It is understood Pogba’s current deal pays him £290,000-a-week, but Spanish publication Diario Madridista and Italian outlet Tuttosport, both claim Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola will use talks to try and increase his salary. The reports claim Pogba’s agent is seeking to increase his clients wages to around €34million (£31m) per season, which works out at just under £600,000-a-week.
