NEW DELHI: India crushed South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in the Pune Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match series. With the emphatic win over the Proteas that came in the final session on the fourth day, India also claimed their 11th series win at home. The victory helped India break Australia’s record of most successful run at home. Australia twice registered 10 consecutive home series wins that came between years 1994/95 – 2000/01 and 2004 – 2008/09. While West Indies between 1975/76 – 1985/86 registered 8 straight home series wins. India now have claimed 11 consecutive series victories, starting from 2012/13 season. India suffered their last series defeat at home way back in 2012, when they lost 1-2 to visiting English side.
