WEST HAM will demand Anthony Martial as part of any deal involving defender Issa Diop going to Manchester United, according to reports. United’s quest for a new centre-back continues with Old Trafford chiefs seeing a £45million bid for Diop turned down by the Hammers. The Independent claim West Ham chiefs will be happy to sell their star defender to United but want striker Martial to be included in the deal. Martial struggled for consistency in the starting 11 last season after clashing with ex-manager Jose Mourinho. The Frenchman, 23, did enjoy more regular involvement under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though, finishing the season with 38 appearances and 12 goals. However, United bosses are not interested in selling Martial with forwards Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku both edging towards an Old Trafford exit. It will leave West Ham demanding £60m for 22-year-old powerhouse Diop – who earned high praise from Mourinho last year.
