And while seat 4B on the Kodama Bullet Train to Nagoya might seem a strange place to start what promises to be the most epic road trip in Motor Trend’s history, we’re here for a very good reason. Soon we’ll be stopping at Hamamatsu, at the world headquarters of Suzuki, to pick up a pair of Kizashi SLS AWD sedans to drive back to Los Angeles. That’s right, drive. We’re planning to cover more than 7000 miles through Japan, east of Siberia, Alaska, and Canada, down to MT’s headquarters in El Segundo, California. We’re calling it “Tokyo to L.A.-The Hard Way.” Our 2.4-liter, CVT Kizashis are identical to the ones you can buy from your friendly local Suzuki dealer stateside, apart from a couple of minor, but important, details.
