With the final series of Game of Thrones on the horizon this April 14, it’s sadly almost time to say goodbye to many beloved (and hated) characters. From the brooding Jon Snow to the brutal Cersei Lannister, the HBO show has been one of the most talked about programmes of the decade and catapulted a number of unknown actors to fame. One example is Emilia Clarke, the actress behind Daenerys Targaryen on the show, who was fresh out of drama school when she joined the series in 2011 with just a couple of film and television credits to her name. Recently, she revealed to The New Yorker that after filming the very first series in 2011 she suffered from a brain aneurysm during a work out session. She said, “I immediately felt as though an elastic band were squeezing my brain… I tried to ignore the pain and push through it, but I just couldn’t. I told my trainer I had to take a break. Somehow, almost crawling, I made it to the locker room. I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill.
