Lewis Hamilton has won his fourth Formula One world championship in an incident-filled Mexican Grand Prix. The Brit clashed with his title rival Sebastian Vettel on the first lap, with the pair both falling to the back of the grid. Vettel needed to finish in the top two to stand any chance of catching the Brit in the standings, but after steadily moving through the field was unable to get past fourth place. Hamilton would finish ninth, which was enough for him to seal an historic world title win. Max Verstappen would go on to win the race, but the belonged to Hamilton – even if he did not win it in the circumstances he would have liked.
