Ben Stokes is the hero of England cricket after a stunning summer which featured a World Cup win and an unparalleled Ashes innings. It has not all been plain sailing for the Durham all-rounder in recent years. He stepped in to defend two men from homophobia at a Bristol night club in September 2017 but was charged with affray after a fracas left two men injured. But he was acquitted in August 2018 and spoke exclusively to Mirror Sport about how his England teammates helped him through a difficult 11 months.
