In a sensational speech that saw the First Minister launch repeated attacks on Boris Johnson, she insisted Scotland was “rich enough” to get by economically without the help of England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Repeating the same rhetoric she has since the first Scottish independence Referendum that saw Scots vote against becoming a separate nation to the UK, she told a crowd of activists in Aberdeen “it is time to take charge of our own future”, adding her party is “winning” the battle for independence. She then declared “it’s time for independence” much to the delight of the room. She said: “These can seem like dark times. But there is light and there is always hope. Progressive values are being fought for in Europe. “Young people are taking a stand for their future. And for Scotland, the hope lies in becoming an independent nation. “Be in no doubt about this.
