Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has baulked at West Ham United’s valuation of Declan Rice, according to the Daily Star. Manuel Pellegrini’s side has slapped a massive £80million price tag on the young England midfielder, after an impressive first full season in the Premier League. But United aren’t willing to spend that much on Rice this early in his career, and will now look elsewhere. The defensive midfielder has drawn the attention of a number of top clubs in Europe, and is a staple in Gareth Southgate’s England squad. The 20-year-old has played every minute of West Ham’s Premier League season, so far, and has now made 77 appearances for the club. He’s also scored two goals in the Premier League, including a stunning strike against Arsenal at the London Stadium last season. Both Manchester clubs were linked with a move for Rice during the summer, but a move failed to materialise. It’s unlikely that City will go back in for the England international, having signed 23-year-old Rodri this summer, who plays in the same position.
