CHENNAI: The shore town of Mamallapuram will be out of bounds for the public till the Modi-Xi summit is over on October 13. The authorities have already closed the beach while the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has closed monuments like Krishna’s Butterball, rock cut Ganesha temple and stone sculptures representing a group of monkeys to public from October 6 to 11. People may have to carry a government ID card like Aadhaar for security checks. It is better to stay away from hotels and resorts on the ECR and in Mamallapuram next week as police have also asked hotels and resorts closer to the summit area in the town to tell their guests to vacate before October 12 in the wake of the meet on October 12 and 13. Resorts and hotels on the ECR and on the shore town of Mamallapuram have been asked to restrict bookings in the coming days.
