United States soccer team captain Megan Rapinoe’s remarkable week continued Friday as she scored both of America’s goals in a 2-1 win over World Cup host France to advance to a semifinal matchup with England. She previously scored twice in Monday’s 2-1 win over Spain, and has been entrenched in the headlines ever since, primarily for publicly quarreling with President Donald Trump over her preemptive refusal to visit the White House should the U.S. win the World Cup.
