The monthly medal is where every shot counts, bushes and bunkers alike and within that was played the Rolle Cup which is simply awarded to the lowest score of the day. The first Monday of June then saw 113 Seniors’ take part in round four of the Seniors Centenary Salver. Got it?I think a ‘thank you’ is more than warranted for those club volunteers who close the competitions (so, thank you) but with all those scores to recall there may not be much space for me do my usual verbal faffing about – no chance! A note for your diaries; the 148th Open will take place on the Dunluce course at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland between 18 and 21 July and the total purse is nearly £8 million – dream on.
