Wales coach Warren Gatland will name a widened training squad next Tuesday as the build-up the Rugby World Cup in Japan begins in earnest. In 2015, Wales named a 47-man training squad before whittling it down to the final 31. We’re predicting a group of 48 this time around, with the huge back-row competition likely to mean Gatland wants an extra look at one or two others. Leigh Halfpenny, Liam Williams, George North and Josh Adams are all on the plane to Japan, baring injury or a dramatic loss of form. Hallam Amos, Jonah Holmes and Steff Evans have all been involved in Wales camps before but still have a fair bit to prove when it comes to booking their place in the final squad.
