HEADING TO THE POLLS: The Conservative and Labour parties are both grappling with internal election agony this weekend ahead of local council elections Thursday and the European election later in May. In Tory land: A poll in the Mail on Sunday suggested 40 percent of Conservative councillors are planning to vote for Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party in the European election in protest at Theresa May’s failure to take Britain out of the EU by March 29. Three-quarters want May to resign. The Sunday Express says the party expects to lose more than 1,000 of the council seats they hold, as “furious” donors are abandoning the party.
