16 March 2019 • 10:04pm The old gold revival in the Black Country is two games from silverware, although even if Wolverhampton Wanderers never make it all the way to the FA Cup final in May, they will always have this Saturday night as proof of how far the club have come this season. This was a splendid FA Cup victory, Wolves propelled into the semi-finals for the first time since 1998 with a shrewd and ruthless performances against a Manchester United team that struggled with the sheer ringcraft of their opponents. The home team came good in the second half when manager Nuno Espirito Santo let his Wolves off the lead ad they attacked United relentlessly on the counter-attack. There were goals from Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota, the second a counter-attacking masterpiece, and the strings were pulled throughout by Joao Moutinho. The little Portuguese midfielder outshone much bigger names in the away team. He made the first goal for Jimenez and his influence could be felt all over the pitch.
