I have been waiting for this movie for most of my adult life. Well, at least since the credit’s rolled on the 1999 fiasco that was “The Phantom Menace” and I realized it would be a little longer before a “Star Wars” movie would match the expectations set by the original trilogy. RELATED: ‘STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS’ TRAILER SCORES ON ‘MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL’ So it’s hard not to get swept up in the adulation over Monday night’s release of the new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer, particularly with its John Williams score and director J.J. Abrams’ nerdy flourishes. But to maintain the balance in the Force, it’s hard not to pick at the potential flaws, too. Here, then, is one nerd’s take on two minutes and 30-second peek of what we’ll see when the movie hits theaters on Dec. 18: THE FORCE WAS STRONG WITH… 1.) “The Force Awakens” focuses on three new heroes — Daisy Ridley’s scavenger Rey, John Boyega’s reformed Stormtrooper Finn and Oscar Isaac’s X-Wing pilot Poe — none of whom are white males. That diversity may have inspired racists who are trying to mount a head-scratching boycott of the film. But it’s about time…
