A series produced by Ridley Scott and another penned by Lost co-creator Carlton Cuse are among the next batch of projects making their debut via Amazon Studios’ “Pilot Season” program.Amazon announced this week that seven new series will premiere as pilot episodes on Amazon Instant Video beginning January 15, including four hour-long shows, two half-hour shows, and one documentary series. A mix of drama and comedy projects, the list of new series include quite a few well-known creators, as well as a few newcomers to come out of the studio’s open submission system for screenplays.As with past “pilot season” campaigns, audience response to each pilot will play a role in determining whether Amazon pursues a full-series order for the projects.
