A morbidly devoted soccer fan allegedly slashed his wife and two kids’ throats before running off to an Italian bar to watch Italy take on England in the World Cup. Italian Carlo Lissi, 31, is now charged with triple murder after the bodies of his wife, Cristina Omes, and two young girls, ages 5 and 20 months, were found in his family’s Motta Visconti home, near Milan, early Sunday, UPI reported. The 38-year-old mother was allegedly knifed while watching TV on the couch before Lissi allegedly attacked his two children as they slept. The computer consultant then headed to the bar around 11:30 p.m. to watch the soccer match. Along the way he tossed his weapon down a manhole, a police source told The Mirror. Around 2 a.m. Lissi reportedly returned home and in feigned shock reported finding the bloody bodies of his family to police. After several hours of questioning the failed father allegedly confessed to the murder, telling police he was in love with someone else — a love that was “unrequited” — and that the soccer game was a hopeful alibi, UPI reported.
