PANO – Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh led a high-ranking defence delegation to pay a working visit to the Tank and Armoured Corps on April 16th. Commander of the Tank and Armoured Corps, Major General Hoang Trung Kien briefed the Defence Minister and delegates on the organization, task performance, Party organization, staff and military assets of the force. According to the report, the force seriously studied and deployed resolutions, instructions and directions from the higher commands; actively implemented and successfully fulfilled all the assigned tasks; and improved the quality of military training, increasing the comprehensive war-fighting ability of the force, in 2012 and the first quarter of 2013. Particularly, the Corps provided good consultancy to the Defence Ministry on building the force; well organized enlistment drives; properly selected and trained cadets for the force in line with the long-term plan to build the force to meet the requirements of modern warfare; improved its combat readiness and well implemented the combat readiness regulations; organized military contests and exercises to raise the quality of military training in tank and armoured units across the Army; and properly implemented demobilization policies….
